David Beckham
Comm 423 The Value of David Beckham Dik Yi Tse (230052113) Ryan Darmasubrata (230055322) The motivation behind this paper is to assess one of the most remarkable exchanges in the football world. The moved of David Beckham from Manchester United to Real Madrid has turning into the discussion of football fans as well as the money related master throughout the previous 2 years. In contrast to most exchanges, the David Beckham move has upset player move in the football world. It turned into the standing point on how football player isn't esteemed by their aptitudes on the field yet rather on their abilities outside the field. The paper will assess the reason, the reasons and the impact of the exchange dependent on both specialized and money related perspectives. So as to assess the exchange dependent on its monetary perspective, we will utilize diagnostic hypothesis of creation and rivalry between firms. [pic] Variable expense fulfills the accompanying equation: [pic] Return work: [pic] C: variable cost S: unit cost of the item K: fixed expense ?: pace of dispersion r: rebate rate T: span of the office With the recipes above, we attempt to legitimize the profits of the football clubs under various condition. From the figurings, we can see the difference in income for the football clubs between fixed expenses at various degrees of market size. David Beckham David Beckham is an English footballer, generally viewed as the greatest symbol in the game. He presently plays for Real Madrid and he is the chief of England national group. David Beckham is particularly noted for the nature of his intersection and the capacity to hit free-kicks especially from long-range and swinging corners. He is likewise celebrated for his superstar way of life trappings, media consideration and advertising potential. At an early stage in his profession Beckham made sure about various rewarding sponsorship bargains including Brylcreem, Adidas, Vodafone (which finished in July 2005) and Diesel. In spite of the USA's lopsided acknowledgment of soccer, Beckham's acknowledgment in the USA is sufficiently able to empower him to show up in print and TV publicizing for different supporters, including Gillette razors. He has gotten all the more notable in North America since the achievement of the British film Bend It Like Beckham, about a British Sikh young lady who worships David Beckham and harbors aspirations of being a football player. David was conceived on May 2, 1975 in Leytonstone, London to Ted and Sandra Beckham. David's folks were Manchester United supporters and he went with then to huge numbers of the games. He finished paperwork for Manchester United as a student in July 1991 and he was instrumental in helping the club win the FA Youth Cup in May 1992, scoring in the second leg of the last against Crystal Palace. His Premier League debut in the end came at home to Leeds United on April 2, 1995. Mostly because of wounds to key starters, David set up himself in the primary group during the 1995/96 season. David's game dominating exhibitions during 1996/97 helped United to win another Premiership title and arrive at the semi-last of the UEFA Champions League. On an individual level, he was casted a ballot Young Player of the Year and second in the general Player of the Year survey. Manchester United's 1997/98 season was one to overlook as they completed second to Arsenal in the League, lost to Barnsley in the FA Cup and were taken out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Monaco. David appreciated a critical second, when he was chosen for England's World Cup Finals crew. Heââ¬â¢s been a colleague from that point onward. Beckham captained England for the first ime in a well disposed match in Italy and held the armband for the benevolent with Spain and the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Finland, against whom he scored a significant objective at Anfield. Beckham showed up for England in 2005 and is relied upon to chief the group at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Provided that this is true, he would turn out to be just the 6th England player to speak to his nation at three World Cup rivalries (in spite of the fact that Sol Campbell and Michael Owen are relied upon to accomplish this accomplishment simultaneously), and the fourth (after Billy Wright, Bobby Moore and Bryan Robson) to chief the group at more than one World Cup. Beckham is additionally a sensible possibility to record 100 appearances for his nation. He captained his nation for a milestone 50th time in the neighborly universal against Argentina in November 2005. Beckham is one of just four players to have seemed multiple times in the Champions League. The purposes behind exchange Manchester United First explanation: David Beckham just had 2 additional years contract with Manchester United and under the Bosman rule, each player can sign another agreement with another group in the term of a half year before his agreement terminated. In view of the condition of the Bosman move rule, any club can get David Beckham signature without paying any expense to Manchester United, if David Beckham choose not to sign any new agreement inside the following one and a half years, Manchester United would lose their greatest resource without getting any profits. Second explanation: David Beckham relationship with his administrator was in a tough situation. David Beckham fame has separated his focus between his activity on the field and on the runaway. With having preservationist technique for running a football club, Sir Alex Ferguson, Manager of Manchester United had worry that David Beckham was not proceeding as best as he should. Henceforth contentions had emerged in quantities of event. Third explanation: Pepsi and Adidas assumed a major job in constraining David Beckham to move to Real Madrid. For Pepsi, it would be progressively gainful for them to have David Beckham to play in Real Madrid since Real Madrid has three different players that have sponsorship manages Pepsi. However, the greatest impact originated from Adidas, which is the fundamental support to David Beckham. Manchester Untied is supported by Nike, Adidas greatest rivalry in the business and Real Madrid is supported by Adidas, so it would be such a great amount of better for Adidas to have David Beckham to play in Real Madrid rather than Manchester United. Fourth explanation: Manchester United needs increasingly youthful players in their crew, while the normal age of their lists has arrive at 30 years of age, Manchester United requirements to locate another potential youthful player to keep up their notoriety, the offer of David Beckham would bring the vital capital for the speculation. Genuine Madrid Real Madrid is an extremely fruitful club with championââ¬â¢s notoriety at their back, their beginning lineup is loaded up with headliners, subsequently their bit of leeway was likewise their greatest shortcoming. With many headliners in their group, Real Madrid has a high fixed expense in their activity, yet the vast majority of their headliners are not extremely business. Dominant part of the players are simply enormous names inside the business or in the European market. Genuine didnââ¬â¢t have any system in the Asian and North American market at that point. With football to be the main game in Asia, Real Madrid was missing greater part of the activity. Therefore in 2002/03 season, Real Madrid just spotted themselves the eighth on the rundown of the most extravagant club on the planet. Genuine Madrid expected to discover a player who might pioneer their showcasing procedure to the entire world. They are not just searching for somebody who can carry backers to their arena, and a banner kid for the crusade, yet in addition has what it takes to appear in the field. This is a definitive motivation behind why Real Madrid was extremely resolved to get Beckham. The impacts of David Beckham to Real Madrid Real Madrid's income from club stock, for example, shirts, hopped 67 percent in Beckham's first season alone, and climbed another 6. 5 percent in the year to June. Generally speaking business pay, which incorporates cash from manages any semblance of Siemens, Adidas and Pepsi, which have all developed in an incentive with the ââ¬Å"Beckham effectâ⬠, presently remains at around ? 80m every year. Genuine Madrid additionally earned ? 48m (26 percent of turnover) from coordinate day salary (principally ticket deals), ? 44m (24 percent) from TV, and ? 6m (8 percent) from limited time exercises, for example, worthwhile abroad visits and agreeableness, which have likewise become better workers in light of David Beckham. Furthermore, though Real Madrid's yearly compensation bill (? 98m) presently compares to 52 percent of turnover, and is falling towards a normal proportion of 47 percent one year from now. With the budgetary improvement, Real Madrid is presently the most extravagant club on the planet, beating Manchester United who won the title eighth continuous years. 2005 Football clubs income ranks[1]: 1 Real Madrid (Spain) $330 million Manchester United was No. 1 when it had David Beckham. Presently Real Madrid has him and turned into No. 1. 2 Manchester United (England) $295 million Slips out of the top spot without precedent for the nine-year history of the rankings. 3 AC Milan (Italy) $280 million Nearly 60 percent, or $165 million, of its income is from broadcasting â⬠more than any other person. 4 Juventus (Italy) $274 million Averages just 26,600 fans yet climbs from No. 5 a year ago gratitude to a rewarding TV contract. 5 Chelsea (England) $264 million Its powerful finance makes it No. in yearly overall deficits, which allegedly were $244 million. Assessing the exchange [pic] In deciding the defense for the exchange, we utilize the diagnostic hypothesis to demonstrate that despite the fact that Real Madrid paid an enormous aggregate of move expense and committed to pay a significant pay to David Beckham, the obtaining would benefit Real Madrid more on the grounds that the bigger market size that David Bec kham can open for Real Madrid. To make the count to be precise as could be expected under the circumstances, we had made a few suspicions for the numbers utilized in the estimation. Peruser should remember that since Real Madrid is a private association, it is elusive the genuine information about their present and past fiscal reports. By and by, we put forth a valiant effort to introduce the numbers as it would introduce the genuine case situation. Fixed cost (K), be

Next steps for Fall 2017 admitted students COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog
Next steps for Fall 2017 admitted students COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog This post was adapted from a previous version. Most of you reading this blog post received the admission decision you were hoping to get when you applied to SIPA this year. You should be proud of your achievement. There was a competitive applicant pool and your application was exemplary. And now that the celebrations have died down a bit, I wanted to recap a few things that every newly-admitted student should know going forward. The Welcome Portal The Welcome Portal has everything you need regarding next steps. It tells you about upcoming deadlines and special events, offers advice on how to apply for student housing, includes details about Admitted Students Day in April, and even explains the visa process and ALP requirement for international students. So review the Welcome Portal to explore the many benefits of being a Columbia University student. This is also where youll go to accept your admissions offer by April 15/May 1, depending on what your admission letter says. (Log-in details for the Welcome Portal may be found in your admissions letter.) I also invite you to follow us on Instagram (@Columbia.SIPA) and share your admissions story with us! Your Status Page Before the academic term starts, youre going to get sick and tired of me mentioning the Status Page (especially through reminder emails). But I only bug you because I care, and I want you to start off the school year without any delays. Your Status Page is where you go to review your Application Checklist. There are a few items on your checklist that we must have in order to finalize your academic record before August 2017. And if your record isnt finalized, you wont be able to register for classes during Fall 2017 orientation. (Gasp!) Official Documents When you review the Welcome Portal, youll notice a section that outlines upcoming deadlines for the Application Checklist materials, also known as official documents. These are hard deadlines for the Admissions Office to receive your official documents, mainly transcripts and test scores. I can guarantee that 90% of you have not submitted all of your official documents to our office. Heres what I mean: You applied to SIPA. You submitted a scanned copy of your college transcript(s). You were admitted to SIPA with that scanned transcript(s). But guess what, its still a scan of a transcript, which means it is an unofficial copy. Even if your college registrars office handed you an official transcript, since you opened it and scanned it, we must consider it as an unofficial copy. Its technically been altered, so it doesnt count as an official document. To help you remember that fact, I added these nifty little notifications at the top of your Status Page that tells you which documents were missing. But wait, your Status Page has a green checkmark next to your transcript(s) and youre still seeing these notifications. Well, chances are the notifications are there for a reason. The checklist is referring to your unofficial copy tied to your admissions application: just cross check the upload date and hover over the checkmark to see if the pop-up text reads Received Copy or Received. Still confused? Then read this blog post, Dissecting the Application Checklist. (And yes, the blog post is highlighted in yellow on your Status Page for all time.) (P.S. These messages may not appear on your Status Page until after you have responded to your admission offer and paid the enrollment deposit.) Hover over the check mark to confirm to see if the document was an unofficial or official copy. Got it now? Good! The process for sending us your official transcripts and test scores is outlined in the Welcome Portal. Ive also included it below: Official transcripts and test scores are due by July 1, 2017, unless instructed otherwise. (International students who wont have conferred degrees until after the deadline can email us and well make a note in their account.) Official test scores must be sent to us by the testing company (e.g., ETS, GMAC). GRE/TOEFL ibt school code: 2161 (no department code) GMAT school code: MIA is QF8-64-56; MPA is QF8-64-99 You may mail your official transcripts to: Columbia University | SIPA Office of Admissions Financial Aid 514 West 113th Street New York, New York 10025 Or email to sipa_admission@sipa.columbia.edu, but the transcripts must be sent from the registrars office through a service like eSCRIP-SAFE in order to be considered official. Official Test Scores The same rules outlined above apply to your official test scores. But if you truly know you sent us your official scores, there may be a workaround from re-ordering your test scores. Chances are your application name and email address are not recorded the same as the name and email address you registered to take the GRE/GMAT or TOEFL/IELTS with a few months ago. (You may recall us warning against this in the application instructions.) Thus, we couldnt match the exam to your account because of the mismatch. If thats the case, contact the testing center and confirm your full name, date of birth and email address associated with your account. Youll need to send us that information, along with the batch number/cycle number for GRE and TOEFL scores; the appointment number and identification number for GMAT scores; or send us the official score report for IELTS scores. Conditional Admission Supplemental Quant Some students are required to take additional quantitative preparation prior to enrolling at SIPA. Follow the instructions in your admission letter, but it basically says this: To complete this requirement (as described in the admission letter/Welcome Portal), you must take two courses in Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics or a single combined course in Principles of Economics. These courses may be physical or virtual (online) but must be from an accredited academic institution. This course can be completed abroad as long as the institution is accredited in its home country. If youre unsure, check the universitys website for their accreditation notice or consult with World Education Services for assistance. Free courses through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) or certificate programs through Coursera and other online services do not fulfill this requirement. Successful completion is defined as a letter grade of B or higher or its numerical equivalent. I cant recommend any institution over another, so, unfortunately, I cant offer further guidance on where to complete this requirement. Please submit final transcripts verifying your successful completion to the Admissions Office by July 1, 2017. If you are completing the economics course(s) during the summer, you must send proof of course registration to the Admissions Office by July 1, 2017; the final transcript must be received by the Admissions Office no later than August 18, 2017. By completing this requirement, your admission to SIPA will become final. SIPA Summer and/or Fall ALP Some international students are required to enroll in summer and/or fall ALP as a condition of their admission. Your admission letter states if you are required to complete this coursework. Ive already gotten several inquiries about waiving this requirement, and the answer is no. This is a policy set by the university and we cannot change it. The only way to waive out of it (as described in the admission letter/Welcome Portal), is to provide new TOEFL or IELTS scores that show at least a score of 110 on the TOEFL or 7.5 on the IELTS. Improved scores must be submitted to the Admissions Office no later than June 1, 2017. All About Money Your Admissions Deposit You have until the date on your admission letter to accept your enrollment offer AND pay the $2,000.00 USD admission deposit. You do not have to pay these items at the same time. So you can submit your response form and select yes, and then access your Status Page in a couple weeks to make the deposit payment. However, your deposit payment must be paid in full at once (no partial payments). This should be paid through the online portal. Just click on the corresponding hyperlink to submit your payment. And keep in mind that youll continue to see a lovely reminder (below) on your Status Page until your deposit is paid, and only after youve submitted your response form. Financial Aid Fellowships If you received a scholarship or fellowship, you will have received a separate notification letter about your funding along with your letter of admission. (Early-action candidates had to wait until now to learn about their funding status.) For domestic students, weâll also communicate student loans and work-study details in award letters, but youâll only receive that letter after youâve submitted a FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov, using school code 002707. In order to be considered for financial aid, itâs important that you submit your FAFSA as soon as possible. The sooner you submit it, the sooner our financial aid staff can issue your award letter. Most financial aid packages are released one to two weeks after your FAFSA is received. To see your funding letters, go to your Status Page, scroll down to where it says Status Update and click on the View Update link. From there, youll be directed to your admission letter (confetti! yay!). Then youll need to scroll down to the bottom of your letter. This is where youll see if you have one (or several) letters available to read. If theres an additional dated hyperlink then that means you have another message in your account. So click on it! All students, whether funded their first year or not, will be able to apply for second-year funding. Most of this funding is in the form of assistantships for second-year students who succeeded in their first year of studies. (Youâll learn more about these opportunities during the spring semester of your first year.) We also encourage you to visit https://new.sipa.columbia.edu/financial-aid for more information about funding your education, which includes a database of external funding opportunities. Tuition, Fees, and Billing Annually, Columbia University releases the estimated cost of attendance. To date, we only have access to 2017-18 figures. You can review them here. We wont know how much tuition will increase Regarding your tuition bill: this will be generated closer to the start of the academic term. You also have the option to set up a payment plan or coordinate your payments with a third-party sponsor. For more information on that process, browse the Student Financial Services website. (Note: The Office of Admissions Financial Aid is not involved in this process.) You can also browse this site to get a historical look at the tuition and fees SIPA (Columbia University) has charged each year. Contact Us If any admitted students have any specific financial aid or fellowship inquiries, please email them with a descriptive and informative subject line to sipa_finaid@columbia.edu. Admissions queries can continue to go to sipa_admission@columbia.edu or sipa_new@columbia.edu. Thats all the advice I have for now. If you need anything give us a call or send an email. Social and Emotional Learning Competence
Question: Discuss aboutr the Social and Emotional Learning Competence. Answer: Introduction The resume contains the career details of Jenny Peterson, who is an experienced counsellor and a practitioner of family dispute resolution. The family practitioners need a series of competencies to deal with the clients with adequate empathy. There are several therapists and counsellors around the world, who provide psychological counselling to the families and the achieve a positive outcome which can only be done if the counsellor achieve a careful assessment and is competent enough of understanding the complex situations of the client, and capable of working with them and has a definite aim of reaching the final outcome which is attainable and ends in a positive note (Pybis et al. 2015). This essay will provide a critical analysis of the resume of Jenny Peterson where it will analyse the competencies of the counsellor. The measurement of the skills at the implementation of the treatment to the clients requires a detailed assessment. Apparently it might be a complicated assessment, but there can be three different methods that could be used for this assessment. The first one is the successful assessment of the outcome of the patients. This might feel as a compelling index, because the aim of the treatment would be to benefit the patients. However, while in practice the assessment could be problematic. Basically the basic shortcoming of the procedure is that there can be an indirect measure as the outcomes of the patient can be affected by different variables, a major one would be the characteristics of the patients. The patients may vary in their responses throughout the treatment due to any kind of co-morbidity or the present complicated life of their own (Stevens et al. 2015). A successful counsellor would be the one who has evaluated all the data that the client has provided him or her in the cou nselling sessions and finally lead to a decision that will benefit the client in life. A successful counsellor should also assess the quality of their counselling sessions by using different methods. For this reason they may use the therapy quality method which will require them to evaluate all the counselling sessions using a certain standard procedure. For instance, in the sphere of cognitive behaviour theory, the most common practice for the treatment would be using the cognitive therapy scale. Usually the counsellors record all the sessions and evaluate them by a certain rater with the respect to the quality and presence of the pre determined theories (McGillivray et al. 2015). This is also an attractive way of evaluating the competence of the therapist as it is possible to assess their performance for their implementation of the treatment. According to the resume the counsellor has the competency of counselling the couples and families and the individuals as well. He has also worked with several issues such as family violence, anxiety, depression and the issues related with alcohol and drug abuse. The vast range of treating these issues portrays a clear understanding of the problems of the clients. The counsellor seems to deal with the complicated family issues which clearly indicates a profound understanding of inter relationship issues. The counsellor also competent in writing detailed report relating to the case notes, reports of the client and the arguments regarding the parenting issue. He is also capable of developing the action plan. This also indicates his skill of critically analyse the situation and apply the psychological knowledge while assessing the situation.
